An insane summer

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

So far this summer my schedule has been nothing short of insane. Since it began, let’s say when Dori was done with school around the end of May, we’ve had 2 or 3 weekends free here - the rest of the time we’ve either been traveling down to NYC, had guests, or been out […]

T-Rex Maiden Flight(s)

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Last week I wrangled myself free of work for an hour or so and was able to attempt the maiden flight of my T-Rex 450. I had some difficulty with the rudder and gyro, specifically when the bird would get light on the skids it would spin very quickly in circles. Next, when […]

T-Rex Build Overview

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I’ve posted my T-Rex build pics, just a few snapshots to give an idea of my experience, over at Gallerama. The gallery is here. I added descriptions to hopefully make it vaguely comprehensible.

Weekend in Portland, ME

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Over Memorial Day weekend Dori and I went up to Portland, Maine, for a quasi-early anniversary present to ourselves. We also visited Karin, my co-worker from MoveOn, had a lobster BBQ, and just kinda relaxed around town.
We kept it to a short trip; I went up Friday to meet Dori in Portland, since she […]

Quick T-Rex build update

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

I’ve had my t-rex for almost 2 weeks now, and its nearing completion. I was so far off in my original time estimate to build it, its almost ridiculous.
Hopefully I’ll have a few pics and a short build log up soon. And maybe I’ll even get to fly the thing!

Nidhi’s Wedding in DC

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

This past weekend I attended my first ever Christian-Hindu wedding in Washington D.C. My college housemate Nidhi Kalra married Dave Ferguson, whom she met in grad school at CMU. The wedding was wonderful, and the larger weekend experience very eventful.
It didn’t start out so well. Dori and I had a late-ish flight […]

My lunch

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Normally I wouldn’t write about what I have for lunch, but today stands out a little bit. Foodies - I hope I can make you proud:
My lunch “entre” was a handful of scallops, blackened with cajun spices and a side of fusilli with marinara sauce. For dessert - which I ate first, naturally […]

Nozbe - a tool for Getting Things Done

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I’ve tried a bunch of project/time management tools in the past, but like a hungry man at a buffet, I tend to take too much on my plate at once. Then I find the flaws in my system. A little while back I read the popular book Getting Things Done by David Allen. […]

Surge Protector Gone Wild!

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

On Monday morning, somewhere around 4am I think, Dori and I awoke to my computer’s backup power beeping. I also had heard, subconsciously, the circuit breaker flip a few minutes before. I was asleep so it only partly registered, naturally.
I went to the breaker, flipped it back on, and while walking back to […]
