Last night at the Go club, I finally beat one of the instructors. Mr. Takabi won the first game by 15 (I took 6 stones), but I won the 2nd by 15 (again, 6 stones).

This one was a long time coming. The best I had done previously was a 1 point loss. Next time, 5 stones!

I also finished reading the 3rd book in the ‘Learn to Play Go’ series, and scored an 80% of the final quiz (20/25 questions). I ordered the final two books in the series, and another book called Tesuji, to help my middle game fighting. I’d have skipped the last book, but the siren’s call of free shipping lured me in…

I am definitely going to miss the NYC Go Club.
