Christmas Weekend
I had an extremely relaxing weekend, mostly spent at Dori’s mother’s apartment in Bayside. We went over there in the afternoon on Saturday, a little later than planned. Pat was sick, so the party was called off, so the pressure to get there early and help set up was lifted (and a GeekISP problem took some time to resolve). Mostly that evening I worked on finalizing the GeekISP problem, and we just otherwise relaxed and took it easy.
Christmas day was also extremely relaxing - we woke up, had a nice brunch, and chatted. Jonah came by, and we had a nice morning. We opened presents, and I received a new scarf, 2 Go books, and an I.O.U for a pair of shoes and a DVD of Howl’s Moving Castle. Nice! We played games for a while after that, Yatzee! and Scrabble (I was crushed swifty there), and after I got tired I read one of the Go books on the couch.
Eventually we ordered Chinese food (we’re Jews, after all), relaxed some more, and Dori and I left around 7. Our ride back into the city was quick and easy, and we parked on 61st street thanks to the alt. side suspension for Monday.
Monday my folks came by on their way to visit my cousins Annette and Ben, so we brought in bagels and some spreads. They hung around for a few hours, after which Dori and I took a little nap and then went out to visit her grandfather. We ran into Rachel and Bruce Brill there, which was a nice surprise. We may see Rachel when we’re out in Palm Springs with David, and hopefully we’ll see Bruce again before he goes back to Israel.
Oh… and I played a bunch of Counter-Strike. I’m starting to get the hang of it!
